Super happy that our cute blogging friend Jonie from Just Between Friends could join us and share one of her family Christmas Traditions.  She is so cute and has some great ideas on her site.  Make sure you check it out after you drool over this recipe.

Hi! I am Jonie and I blog over at Just Between Friends and I am just THRILLED to be here to share our family traditions with you! Traditions have been such an integral part of my life that is was hard to choose which one I wanted to share with you! I decided to help you make your Christmas morning a little more pleasant by sharing the perfect breakfast. My mom makes a breakfast casserole for us every year and the last few years she has made this Baked French Toast Casserole. It is delicious and dreamy.

All the prep happens the night before and takes only a minute to whip together. You put it together and then cover it so that it can sit overnight. This isn’t the best photo, but it does show how it looks after sitting all night and then after the topping has been put on it ready to go in the oven.

The next morning, you just need to whip up the topping and put it on the French Toast and then stick it in the oven. It takes about 35-40 minutes to cook, so the perfect amount of time for you to just sit back and enjoy presents being opened and played with.

Pull it out of the oven when the topping is nice and browned and you are ready to go for the morning! You can eat all together, or people can grab a serving when they are hungry. It tastes delicious drizzled in syrup. I would serve it with some cut up fresh fruit and you are good to go!

The recipe is actually a Paula Deen recipe that is fantastic! You can find it over on the Food Network Website. For this post, I only used half the recipe and it made a ton! Give it a try and let me know how you like it!

While you are in the clicking mood, let me show you a couple of Christmas posts that I’ve been working on lately that I think that you would LOVE! This week I am doing a gift giving series and sharing gifts like this fun root beer neighbor gift idea and last week I shared different things you could use to decorate for Christmas with including some free printables (like the Joy below) and a vinyl Christmas countdown sign. Come on over and check them out!
